"IMPORTANTE: la città di Amalfi è molto bella e io mi sono trovata bene, ma presenta due punti di debolezza, uno risolvibile e l'altro no.
Cominciato da quello che si può risolvere: la manutenzione. La città appariva trascurata rispetto a Positano e Capri (che ho visitato): intonaco da rifare e mura da ridipingere, "verdame" e muschio da togliere, qualche pianta e fiore in più da sistemare come ornamento. Mi ha ricordato il mio paese di origine, Ceglie Messapica, BR prima l'opera di manutenzione e rinnovamento che lo ha valorizzato.
Ciò contro cui non è possibile fare niente è la presenza di costruzioni definibili ecomostri (costruiti negli ultimi 40 anni) a deturpare le strade e il panorama.
Io sono sicurissima che Amalfi e Positano si equivalgono e che la cattedrale di Amalfi sia una delle chiese più belle d'Italia, ma Positano è più curato e chi lo visita ne rimane più affascinato rispetto ad Amalfi, anche non meritando questa preferenza, in quanto risistemato sarebbe un gioiello."

"Amalfi is the perfect town for a base on the Amalfi coast. Many restaurants and shops, easy to navigate and many transportation options. We visited in March with few crowds and was perfect."

"The sale of the sita tickets is a disaster. For a stranger it is very difficult to obtain them. I do not want to imagine what it is like for people from Asia. Why is there not even in Amalfi or Salerno a ticket machine? People tried to buy the tickets from the parking machine in Amalfi, which is at the side of the bus stop, while the person selling the tickets sat in a bus watching videos.... "

"Second time we have visited Amalfi. One of the most beautiful towns. Lovely settings and wonderful local people. Unfortunately way too crowded and too many tour groups! Extremely difficult to navigate transportation, especially the bus system."

"I understand this is a tourist place, but some prices are higher than in NY. There should be some regulation or at least information for the tourists what is a normal price for food or transportation"

"Beautiful place, however, we stayed 3 days and went to three different restaurants in which they charged us additional items. On the receipt it showed as ‘bar’ and whenever we told them we believe they overcharged us, they got mad. Another weird experience was at a shop we tried to buy magnets from, we picked about 5 magnets and tried to charge us 42+ euros, when i told him a minute to calculate he started speaking loudly in italian waving his hand and being mad. Taking the bus was confusing.. we were told to stand elsewhere and was told it would arrive in 10 minutes, however we should have waited across the road and we ended up waiting for 1 + hour. When we arrived i asked the bus driver to hold on a minute to grab my luggage from the bus but he was yelling saying no English"
